The league is open to boys and girls ages 5­12 (t-ball through major divisions) and there will also be sign-ups for Pony League (ages 13­14). Players must bring a birth certificate and a recent utility or telephone bill as proof of current residence.

Rowing club

The Los Gatos Rowing Club will hold a meeting for prospective rowers and their parents on Nov. 7, 7 p.m., in the cafeteria at Los Gatos High School.

Coaches and board members will attend the meeting to answer questions about the 2003 junior crew season, and schedules and membership information will be available.


Softball sign-ups

Doubles champs up

Zoe De Bruycker of Saratoga and Tayler Davis of San Jose teamed to win the doubles championship in the girls' 12s at the Fremont Junior Tennis Championships played Oct. 5­6 and 12­13 at the Fremont Tennis Center. De Bruycker, 11, is a student at Blue Hills Elementary School.


Volleyball tryouts

The Point Break Volleyball Club will hold tryouts for the 2003 season in November at Saratoga High School.

The club, under the direction of Westmont girls coach Peter Kim, will hold tryouts on Nov. 16, 7­9 p.m., for girls in the 12-and-under, 13-and-under and 14-and-under divisions, and on Nov. 17, 7­9 p.m., for girls in the 15-and-under, 16-and-under and 18-and-under divisions.

There is a onetime tryout fee of $25, but players can try out for multiple teams.
