Orange Kellin's New Orleans Blue Serenaders, featuring Kellin on clarinet and his Blue Serenaders on piano and percussion, will take center stage on Nov. 10 at 2:30 p.m. The show is presented by the Los GatosSaratoga Community Concert Association.
The group replaces The Rhythm Brothers, who canceled their show due to scheduling conflicts.
The New Orleans Blue Serenaders were most recently on the road with the off-Broadway musical One Mo' Time, along with legendary song-and-dance man Vernel Bagneris, who will also be appearing with them in Los Gatos.
Kellin is a native of Sweden who moved to Louisiana at the age of 17 and quickly became caught up in the New Orleans jazz scene. He is featured on the Oscar-nominated soundtrack of the movie Pretty Baby and the Grammy-nominated original cast album of One Mo' Time.
Bagneris starred in the original production of One Mo' Time, in its sequel, Further Mo', and in Jelly Roll! He also appeared in the Broadway musical The Life and in the film Pennies from Heaven, with Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters.
Next up on the Los GatosSaratoga Community Concert Association bill are sisters Yoon and Min Kwon, who will give a violin and piano recital on Feb. 2, 2003. Concluding the season, on April 27, is pianist Luba Sindler, who has performed throughout the world.
Season tickets are $50 for adults, $45 for senior citizens and $10 for students. The family plan, which includes two adults and any number of students, is $110. Tickets for individual concerts are available at the door for $20 each. All concerts begin at 2:30 p.m. For more information, call Ray Strong at 408.377.1106 or Lea Frey at 408.356.5698.
