Foundation raises
money for schools
The Saratoga Education Foundation's gift-wrap fundraiser has weighed in mightily.
The fundraiser took place at Saratoga, Argonaut and Foothill elementary schools and raised a total of $126,835.47. Of this, nearly $66,000 went to the Saratoga Education Foundation. All schools recorded 100 percent participation.
The foundation, a nonprofit organization founded and run by parents and community members, supports all schools within the Saratoga Union School District.
Altrans asks school
districts for input
The Altrans Transportation Management Association of Saratoga is heading up data collection from Saratoga, Los Gatos and Cupertino school districts in an effort to understand district traffic problems.
Altrans will be distributing a survey to families in the specified areas, with the goal of generating feedback that will target problems and offer solutions to lessen traffic congestion, pollution and pedestrian concerns in the next school year.
