PETTY THEFT—Nov. 29 at 2:40 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue. During the night a car license plate was stolen. The car owner realized the license plate was missing the following morning and reported the theft. There are no suspects at this time.
VANDALISM—Nov. 29 at 9:55 a.m. on Mendelsohn Lane. During the previous night, unknown persons threw plum sauce at a vehicle parked in front of a residence. A gallon of vinegar was poured on the plants around the front door of the residence, and a bag of kitty litter was dumped into the landscaping. There are no known suspects at this time.
POSSESSION—Nov. 27 at 4:45 p.m. on SaratogaSunnyvale Road. An officer stopped a vehicle for a seatbelt violation. When asked if the driver had any illegal substances in the car, the driver retrieved a green container with a white substance in it and a glass pipe. The passenger then produced a bag of white substance from his pocket. Both substances were tested and found positive for methamphetamines. The driver and passenger were booked at the main jail.
DRUNK IN PUBLIC—Nov. 27 at 3:30 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue. A driver was stopped and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence. The passenger in the car reeked of alcohol, had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes and could not stand without holding onto the vehicle. The officer arrested the passenger for being drunk in public.
PETTY THEFT—Nov. 27 at 2:53 p.m. on Prospect Avenue. A student reported that he lost his wallet. A classmate found the wallet, took the $56 inside and discarded the wallet behind a file cabinet at the rear of the classroom. The classmate later confessed to taking the money and splitting it with a second classmate, who was found with $35 in his possession but denied involvement. Since the second classmate is of adult age, a legal review was requested. The other student was released to his parents.
GRAND THEFT—Nov. 26 at 8:40 p.m. on Hume Drive. An unknown person stole a handgun from a residence. The legally registered firearm was taken from an unconfirmed location at the house. The value of the gun was $650.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY—Nov. 26 at 12:55 p.m. on Russell Lane. Two people attempted to enter a residence by breaking a screen and opening a window. During the process, the resident confronted the suspects, who then fled to a gray car. The suspects are still at large.
BURGLARY—Nov. 26 at 11 p.m. on SaratogaSunnyvale Road. Two unknown males entered a video store and took an unknown number of new DVDs. The suspects grabbed the DVDs and ran to a dark-colored vehicle. The suspects are currently outstanding.
PEEPING—Nov. 26 at 11:28 a.m. on Prospect Road. A known suspect was found in the girls' bathroom at a nearby school. The suspect was crouched on a toilet with his feet up on the seat and was found looking over the stall partition at a girl in the stall next to him. The suspect fled when he was confronted. Officers located him at his residence, where he fled again and was subsequently caught and arrested.
