A couple of weeks ago, I witnessed a hero in action. I believe special thanks is in order to our local hero, Mitchell Cutler (he happens to be the owner of La Fondue Restaurant in Saratoga).

Officer Sanchez of the Saratoga sheriff's office was in hot pursuit of a drug dealer during the middle of my son's soccer game. The drug dealer was obviously on something himself, as he was trying to escape from the police officer and was getting ahead of him when suddenly, out of nowhere, I saw Mitch sprinting toward the guy and from behind he took a flying, diving tackle and brought this big guy down like a ton of bricks. Mitch then struggled to force the guy's body onto the ground and control the situation; seconds later Officer Sanchez arrived with the Mace and handcuffs.

I think that selfless, heroic acts like this one deserve our entire community's appreciation.
