Cartoon depiction was insulting and unfair

I am surprised that your newspaper, which we have subscribed to for 35 years, would print a personally insulting cartoon as you did this week without doing some investigative journalism. You could have called us to get our side of the story and the correct facts.

We do not oppose the condor program in any manner, nor does our nephew, John, who is the 50 percent co-owner of the property. We do oppose the loss of privacy that would result from the traffic that the project would generate on our property.

The 800-acre ranch, which borders the Pinnacles National Monument, has been in our family for more than 50 years. We, our extended family and friends, have enjoyed the beauty, quiet and peace of the ranch. Daily traffic on our dirt roads would interfere with our enjoyment of our property. The Pinnacles National Monument encompasses 24,000 acres.
