Sheriff's Report
POSSESSION— Dec. 18 at 10:05 a.m. on Quito Road. An officer stopped a driver for an expired registration. The driver was subsequently discovered to have a suspended license and two outstanding warrants totaling $10,500. The officer arrested the driver for the warrants, then searched the car. One 5.2-gram bag of methamphetamine was found in a hole in the passenger side door. The driver was arrested, booked and the vehicle impounded.

GRAND THEFT—Dec. 13 at 11:30 a.m. on Big Basin Way. Two different groups, composed of one male and one female, came into a clothing store two minutes apart. While the males distracted the store clerk, the younger female took six pairs of men's slacks. This same type of theft occurred at the store in October; however, the suspects were different. The cost of the slacks totaled $1,470.

DRUNK IN PUBLIC—Dec. 13 at 12:10 a.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. A restaurant called police when a patron became belligerent, disturbing customers and refusing to leave the establishment. Upon contact, the officer deemed the woman intoxicated and unfit to care for herself or the safety of others. She was arrested and booked into the main jail.

PETTY THEFT—Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. on Quito Road. A resident had put his trashcan outside on the road for pickup. When he went to bring the trash in the next day, he discovered the trashcan was gone. There are no suspects at this time.

GRAND THEFT—Dec. 12 at 9:25 a.m. on Stoneridge Drive. A woman hired three day laborers that had been standing in front of a hardware store in Cupertino. She drove them to her home in Saratoga to move furniture and clean the house, paying them a total of $193. The next day, the woman discovered that $75,005 worth of jewelry had been stolen. The suspects are still at large.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY—Dec. 11 at 11:05 a.m. on Reid Lane. An envelope containing documents for a small claims court case was discovered missing from a dresser drawer. The resident said he left the rear door unlocked and there was no sign of forced entry. The man was a party in the case, which involved a moving company; however he would not disclose more information about the case. He does not wish to prosecute or follow up on this theft.

IDENTITY THEFT—Dec. 10 at 12:15 p.m. on Oak Street. A resident discovered that a known suspect was using his Social Security number for employment and tax purposes in Las Vegas, Nev. The suspect remains at large.
