If a tree falls in Saratoga ...

Sharlene Rodenberg of 11995 Walbrook Drive examines one of two cars crushed by a tree that was uprooted during a storm that caused much flooding and power outages in the southland. Moments before the tree fell around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 15, Rodenberg said, she and her husband were discussing whether they should move from their bedroom to the other end of the house in case a tree were to fall on them, and her husband insisted that there was no way this would happen. Literally a second later, Rodenberg said, the couple heard a splitting sound, and "the rest is history. It's hilarious; it was almost like God was speaking," she said through chuckles. In the end, the couple spent the night in another bedroom.
