Recent Saratoga
grad wins honor
Jason Booker, who graduated from Saratoga High School in June, was recently named an HP Scholar by the Hewlett-Packard Company. Booker is one of 120 students nationwide who was chosen for excelling in science and math and is working toward a college degree in engineering. The scholars were chosen from schools with which HP is partnering in two different programs.
A freshman studying computer engineering at UCLA, Booker will receive a four-year, $12,000 scholarship, three paid summer internships at HP and a technology package that includes a laptop and a printer. The monetary value of the award totals more than $35,000.
