School budget cuts Community foundation Foothill Club
The Los Gatos­Saratoga Union High School District has made the first in a series of personnel-related steps to cut costs.  More City staff plan to hold exploratory meetings to gauge community interest in the formation of a Saratoga foundation that would be modeled after the Los Gatos Community Foundation.  More For more than 85 years, Saratoga women have gathered in the historic headquarters of the Foothill Club to build friendships and serve the community.  More

Senior center dismissal Antiwar resolution West Valley budget
Since Karen Lorenz, a 15-year-employee of the Saratoga Adult Care Center, was aburptly terminated late last year, two other employees have quit in protest, leaving some in the community alarmed at the rate of attrition.  More The Saratoga City Council has decided to nix the possibility of an antiwar resolution, which had been proposed by council member Stan Bogosian.  More West Valley-Mission Community College District officials have until March 6 to come up with a plan to cut $4.4 million from the district budget for this school year.  More
