Benefit will feature Norwegian pianist
The Immanuel Lutheran Church of Saratoga will host a benefit concert Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. featuring renowned pianist Age Kristoffersen.
Kristoffersen is a Norwegian master pianist who began his craft in childhood, becoming a prodigy. After studying in Boston on a Fulbright Scholarship, Kristoffersen toured internationally, performing at Carnegie Hall three times.
His performance will be held in the church sanctuary. A suggested donation for the event is $10 per person and $25 per family, which will be collected at the door.
Artist group will hold meetings
The Saratoga Contemporary Artists will host their monthly meeting Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Saratoga Senior Center. The meeting will welcome Japanese ink and brush artist Mariko Suzuki. During the meeting Suzuki, a classically trained sumi painter, will share her talents and insights into her work.
Japanese visitors take a tour of 'Toga
Saratoga Sister City (SSC), a 21-year-old cultural exchange program between Saratoga and Japan, will be welcoming 20 visitors from Muko-shi, Japan, on Feb. 24. Saratoga City Hall will be the site of a welcome ceremony at 10 a.m. that day.
On Feb. 25 at 5 p.m., SSC will host a farewell party at the Saratoga Community Center. The public is encouraged to come and join the festivities and learn about Japanese culture.
