High school names track for late coach

Saratoga High School has named its sports field the Marshall Clark Track at Benny Pierce Field, after the cross country and track coach who died in September while running with his team. Clark, who was 69 when he died of a heart attack, was an award-winning coach and had been with Saratoga High for 11 years. Clark had spent most of his career coaching for Northern California schools but had spent two years at the University of Montana after working at Stanford University.

The Los GatosSaratoga Union High School District Board of Trustees approved the name change on Jan. 28, in keeping with the board's policy to name a school facility after an accomplished person in the community.
