Sheriff's Report
STOLEN IDENTITY—Feb. 9, 4:20 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue and McFarland Avenue. A male and female were reportedly arguing in a car. An officer noticed the front license plate missing and requested to see ID. The name on the driver's license differed from the name the suspect gave the officer. The officer also found a stolen checkbook and a drug straw with residue remaining.

AUTO BREAK-IN—Feb. 8, 8:30 p.m. on Prospect Road. An unknown person broke the right front window of a vehicle at a high school parking lot and stole a purse valued at $150. The damage to the vehicle is estimated at $150.

POSSESSION OF WEAPON—Feb. 7, 11:30 a.m. on Prospect Road. A person was seen walking around a school campus with a locking blade knife. The knife was retrieved, and the suspect was released to the custody of the father.

POSSESSION OF ILLEGAL DRUG—Feb. 6, 12:10 a.m. between Highway 9 and Springer Road. An officer stopped a vehicle with a missing front license plate. The officer smelled marijuana and found a bag with 3.5 grams of bud marijuana in the suspect's jacket pocket.

PETTY THEFT—Feb. 3, 4 p.m. on Shadow Mountain Road and Ljepava Avenue. Unknown persons stole two citrus trees from the rear of an office building. The trees were being temporarily restored in recycle bins prior to being planted at a school. The trees are approximately 3 years old. The combined value of the trees and bins is $220.

PETTY THEFT—Feb. 2, 10 p.m. on Clemson Avenue and Saratoga Road. An unknown person removed a potted plant and a garden hose from the front of a residence. The items were valued at $30.

VANDALISM—Feb. 15, 9:30 a.m. on Versailles Way. Residents reported that a piece of their flag that was hanging outside was cut off. The suspect is unknown.

VEHICLE BURGLARY—Feb. 15 between 9:15 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. on Prospect Avenue and Miller Avenue. A person broke into a car while the victim was in church, stealing a purse containing items worth $450.

POSSESSION OF WEAPON—Feb. 13, 8:50 a.m. between Prospect Road and Brookglen Drive. A female student was carrying a knife with a razor blade on school grounds. School authorities seized the knife and released the student to her mother.

IDENTITY THEFT—Feb. 11, 7:30 p.m. on Protos Drive. An unknown person used the victim's name, address and Social Security number to obtain credit card accounts from Home Depot, MBNA America and Sam's Club. The suspect has charged more than $23,000 worth of merchandise.

VEHICLE BURGLARY— Feb. 11, 5:08 p.m. between Cox Avenue and Paseo Presada Avenue. An unknown person broke into the right front window of the victim's car while she was exercising inside a fitness center in the Quito Village area. The suspect stole a purse containing credit cards, a checkbook and a cell phone. The officer found a freshly smoked cigarette butt in the front seat and booked it as evidence.
