Celebrate Saratoga! returns on Sept. 13

The Saratoga Chamber of Commerce is inviting community members to join the 15th annual Celebrate Saratoga! Street Dance on Sept. 13 from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Big Basin Way. The event will feature live music presented on six stages and entertainment for adults and children.

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample gourmet food and taste award-winning wines from local restaurants. The event is free to the public.

Shuttle buses will be available from Saratoga High School, Argonaut Shopping Center and West Valley College. For more information, call 408.867.0753.


League will address the environment

The Southwest Santa Clara Valley League of Women Voters will be meeting at La Hacienda Restaurant at 18840 Saratoga­Los Gatos Road on March 12 to discuss climate changes and their effect on the water supply. Lisa Stone, associate professor of earth sciences at UC-Santa Cruz, will be leading the discussion.

The event will begin with a no-host bar at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. in the Garden Room. Guests can choose between chicken sauté with wine and mushrooms or sliced London broil for $25 a plate. Book-Go-Round to mark 20th birthday

Book-Go-Round will be marking its 20th year on March 17. Volunteers of the Friends of the Saratoga Libraries' used bookstore will celebrate the opening with a group photo. Customers can also join in on the monthlong celebration by getting a 20 percent discount on purchases totaling $20 or more.

All items, including books and records sold at the center, are donated by community members. The store attracts approximately 16,000 customers each year and has collected more than $102,000 within the past year. Book-Go-Round is located at 14410 Oak St. Call 408.867.5552 for more information.
