Vikes among best
The Central Coast Section recently announced its winter season scholastic championship teams, and Lynbrook had three teams place among the top finishers.
The Vikings posted a 3.5070 cumulative grade point average to finish second among wrestling teams in the section. The Lynbrook girls basketball team was sixth at 3.6710, and the boys basketball team was sixth at 3.6070.
Warrior night
The Saratoga Stake for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host a night with the Golden State Warriors on April 8, 7:30 p.m., at the Oakland Arena. The Warriors will play the Utah Jazz, and tickets are priced at $22 for the lower level and $10 for the upper level. All orders must be received by April 4. ShockForce tryouts
The De Anza ShockForce, a girls under-15 Class 3 soccer team, will hold tryouts for the spring and under-16 fall seasons on March 6 and 11, 57 p.m., at Jollyman Park (Stelling field).
The team trainer is Adrianne Moriera. Practice sessions will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:307 p.m., at Jollyman. There is also a summer camp scheduled.

The team is part of the De Anza Youth Soccer League, which is a member of the California Youth Soccer Association and serves the youth of the Cupertino and Saratoga area.
Fencers star
Martin Lee of Saratoga and Emerson DiNapoli and Josh Lepold of Los Gatos fared well at the U.S. Fencing Association's Junior Olympics, held Feb. 1518 at Colorado Springs.
Lee, a 2002 Lynbrook High School graduate, placed seventh in a field of 178 fencers in the junior (under 19) men's epee event. The Stanford freshman is ranked fourth nationally in his division.
DiNapoli, a 16-year-old sophomore at Bellarmine, was eighth in a 192-competitor field in the cadet (under 17) men's foil division.
Lepold, a 15-year-old sophomore at Los Gatos High School, finished 14th in the cadet men's foil event.
