Souper Bowl party
Kori Shih was one of the 36 Saratoga High School ceramics students who made hundreds of bowls last month for the March 18 Saratoga High Souper Bowl fundraiser. For $10, patrons will get bread, a beverage and soup in the student-made glazed bowl they will keep. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the school's fine arts department, says ceramics teacher Leah Aguayo, funding guest artist presentations, special equipment and glaze purchases and paying for part of the annual student art show. The Parent, Teacher, Student Association will help chop the vegetables for the different kinds of soup; the choices are potato corn chowder, chicken noodle and vegetable. According to Aguayo, Saratoga High's Culinary Club will serve the soup and Saratoga Plaza Bakery will donate the bread. The event takes place from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Saratoga High School cafeteria.
