Saratoga resident Roberta Gies died Feb. 26 in her home. She was 87.

Gies was born in Vermont on Oct. 21, 1915, and moved to Saratoga in 1958. She was a member of the Saratoga Federated Church, Friends of the Saratoga Libraries, Pi Phi Sorority and the Saratoga Historical Society.

She is survived by sons William Gies of British Columbia, Stephen Gies of Los Gatos, Chris Gies of San Jose and David Gies of Connecticut and eight grandchildren.

Services will be held on March 22 at the Saratoga Federated Church.
