Redwood jogs this week for schools

Redwood Middle School holds its annual Jogathon this Friday, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Participating students need pledges that will support the school and the Saratoga Education Foundation. The event raises funds for programs and staff that are not funded by the Saratoga Union School District's funding sources. The goal is to raise $75 per student. Neil Simon play at community college

The Good Doctor, a play adapted by Neil Simon from eight humorous stories by Anton Chekhov, continues this weekend at West Valley College. The show, which opened on March 15, runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon in the college's Chamber Theatre, which is inside the music building. Tickets are $8 general admission and $6 for seniors and students (with identification). Parking is $2 and must be paid with quarters. Call 408.741.2058.


Shoor, Lillo make list at Vanderbilt

Saratogans Alex Shoor and Sarah Lillo are on the fall 2002 dean's list at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. Shoor, a senior, graduated from Saratoga High School and was a track and field and cross country athlete. He is now the business manager for the Vanderbilt newspaper and is involved with the Vanderbilt University Young Democrats. Lillo is a student at Vanderbilt's Peabody College, which focuses on education and human development. Both had grade point averages of 3.5 to 4.0 for the semester.


Argonaut will host its annual show

Argonaut Elementary School's annual variety show is this Saturday, March 22. The show, called The Adventure Begins ..., starts at 6 p.m. in the school's multipurpose room. Tickets are available for $5 each and can be purchased through the school; all volunteers involved in the event must buy tickets. For more information, contact Liz Guy at 408.867.7588.
