Government group to study land use

Saratoga community members are encouraged to attend the next Good Government Group meeting on April 3 at 7:15 p.m. in the Patio Room at the Saratoga Community Center to learn about the city's land-use issues.

Councilman Normal Kline will be discussing plans for the Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road Gateway Project and Planning Commissioner Jill Hunter will talk about other important issues that will affect city property. Members will also be talking about the use of the Saratoga Library Community Room at the meeting.

Youth concert will rock the house

The Saratoga Youth Commission Concert will be held at the Warner Hutton House on April 4.

Attendees can enjoy the intimacy of an indoor concert and lounge with several local band members, high school age and older, from 8 to 11 p.m. Photo identification is required for admittance, as is a $5 cover charge.

The Warner Hutton House Teen Center is located at 13777 Fruitvale Ave. next to city hall.

Historical group grant approved

At a March 19 meeting Saratoga City Council members voted unanimously to approve a resolution supporting a $5,000 grant requested by April Halberstadt, director of the Saratoga Historical Museum. The grant will be applied toward hiring a nonprofit consultant who will help develop a long-range strategic business and funding plan for the museum and possibly the McWilliams House.
