Saratoga resident
in 'Cosmo' event
Out of 5,000 entries, Saratoga resident Anh Stovall has been named as one of Cosmopolitan magazine's top 25 semifinalists in its modeling competition. The 25 women are shown on the website, www.cosmopolitan.com, and can be voted for by readers. One vote per computer will be counted until April 1, when Cosmo editors will mull over the decision. Four finalists will be named in the July 2003 issue. More voting will ensue, with the winner snatching the spotlight with a fall cover as well as oodles of fun prizes, including a Dodge Stratus Coupe.
Stovall is a 19-year-old student at Santa Clara University, where she is double majoring in marketing and English. In addition to modeling with Muse Model Management in San Francisco, she works part time as an accountant for First Financial Company. If she wins, she would be the first Vietnamese woman to ever grace a Cosmo cover.
AAUW will host
its English tea
Meet, greet and eat for a good cause on April 5 when the Los GatosSaratoga branch of the American Association of University Women hosts its 15th annual English tea. The branch's committee on homeless women and children organized the event, and, as such, the tea will benefit local homeless charities. In addition to tasty teas and treats, students of Sondra Greene's Golden-Greene School of Irish Dancing will be on hand to step up a storm. Tickets are $25 and can be ordered by calling 408.867.0108. The tea will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church on Saratoga Avenue.
Bunco, food, fun
with women's club

Rousing rounds of Bunco will follow the international-themed potluck. The event is free and will take place at the Church of the Holy Spirit at 65 West Rincon in Campbell.
