California Fencing Academy turns out some of the nation's top fencers

Some of the nation's top fencers have trained at the California Fencing Academy, which is located in Saratoga. The highly trained staff members, many of whom are ex-champions themselves, are headed up by fencing master Dan Tibbetts, who says one of his foremost goals is to instill the "art, science and discipline of the sport" in his students.  More

As the debate rages on over proper usage of the Saratoga Library community room, residents remain outraged that city officials would consider using the facility for anything but community events.  More While Saratoga is not considered a prime target for terrorist attacks, city officials have been trained to address the consequences of an attack on nearby San Jose such as flooding or water contamination.  More Redwood Middle School Principal Christopher Farmer has announced his appointment as superintendent of a Massachusetts school district.
