RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY—March 22, 1:30 p.m. on Fourth Street. A woman left her apartment for 10 to 15 minutes and returned to find that her purse was missing. The victim noticed paint chips on the ground by the front door, which had pry marks on the locks. The victim immediately cancelled her credit cards. The suspect remains unidentified.
IDENTITY THEFT—March 22, 8 a.m. on Bellgrove Circle. An unknown person opened a cellular phone account using the victim's Social Security number. When the victim received the bill, she contacted Sprint PCS, which immediately terminated the account and reversed all charges.
VANDALISM AND MISDEMEANOR—March 22, 2 a.m. on Regan Lane. An unknown person damaged a 3-foot-high fence at a resident's home while the owners of the home were on vacation. The estimated cost to replace the fence is approximately $300.
POSSESSION OF DRUGS—March 21, 5:20 p.m. between Saratoga and McFarland avenues. A deputy stopped a vehicle with four people inside. The passengers consented to a vehicle search, and the deputy found methamphetamines along with glass pipes. The deputy also found a backpack containing credit information for several unknown people, blank ID cards, a hard drive and foil stickers. The suspects were taken to the main jail.
VANDALISM—March 20, 11:30 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue and Highway 85. The drivers were engaged in an argument while sitting in traffic. The suspect approached the driver of the other vehicle and started yelling. The suspect took out a buck knife from the sheath on his belt and hit the windshield of the victim's car. The suspect then fled the scene.
GRAND THEFT—March 19, 11:30 a.m. on Cox Avenue. At a fitness center a man placed his sweatpants—containing a wallet, a cell phone and a watch—in an unlocked locker before exercising. When he returned to his locker approximately 45 minutes later, he found his belongings missing. There were no witnesses.
POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY—March 18, 1:15 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue. An officer stopped a car for speeding. The officer found the driver had a suspended license. Upon searching the vehicle prior to impounding, the officer found a car stereo with pry marks on it. County Radio notified the officer that a resident in Connecticut had reported a stolen stereo with the same model number. The passengers in the car were booked for outstanding arrest warrants.
