Everyone knows the story of "Sleeping Beauty," but Flint Center is presenting a special telling of the fairy tale that will be new to Bay Area audiences: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's ballet of The Sleeping Beauty as performed by those who know it best. Tchaikovsky Perm State Ballet Theater, one of Russia's premier dance companies, will make its Bay Area debut performing the beloved Tchaikovsky ballet for a limited run, April 1013, at Flint Center in Cupertino.
Perm State Ballet Theater, founded in 1870, along with the Bolshoi and the Kirov ballets, is considered one of the top three ballet companies of Russia and is known for its strong emphasis on performing ballets and operas by Tchaikovsky.
This production of The Sleeping Beauty features more than 125 dancers and a full orchestra.
