Local team runs to fight cancer

Team in Training South Bay trains weekly at marathon running, obtaining pledges to help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fund research and support for cancer patients. Over the course of five months, participants work from running a few miles up to 21 before heading out to their first marathon, and often cancer survivors are running right alongside of them.  More

Wildcat Creek Trail Saratoga on TV Speaking up
The Saratoga City Council and the Santa Clara Valley Water District may be steps away from entering a joint use agreement that would reopen a once frequently traveled trail.  More The Saratoga Historical Museum has been featured on the PBS show History Detective for its connection with the family of John Brown.  More Seven-year-old Noah Djenuerian is concerned about pedestrian safety in his neighborhood—and on Feb. 25 he wrote a letter to the mayor of Saratoga to put forth some suggestions.  More

Science fair winners Cookies for troops Oriental Gourmet
Students from Saratoga schools recently took several top honors and awards at the county's most prestigious science fair.  More Sadie Misle, a Saratoga Elementary fourth-grader, wanted to help the troops in Iraq—so she rallied her friends to make and sell cookies and brownies, and donated the profits to the Red Cross.  More Oriental Gourmet, tucked away behind the Bank of America at Saratoga's border at Prospect Road, may not be the most visible restaurant in town, but its many regulars are happy to seek it out time and again for fresh Chinese cuisine and a little conversation with owner Cindy Chung.  More
