Rogers is a school to watch in 2003

Rogers Middle School was one of four schools recognized by the state as one of the schools to watch in 2003. Rogers is considered to be a model for other middle schools in its academic excellence, responsiveness to the needs of young adolescents, social equity and organizational structure to sustain dynamic improvement and reform.

The California Schools to Watch--Taking Center Stage ceremony was held at Rogers. "In the dark times of the California budget crisis, it's nice to have something like this for our teachers, students and the community to reflect on," said Principal Gary Stebbins. The other schools given the honor were in Culver City, Roseville and Castaic.
