DRUNK IN PUBLIC—April 19, 11:50 p.m. between Quito Road and Baylor Avenue. A man was seen falling on the side of a road. The deputy who approached the man detected a strong alcoholic odor on his breath. The man also had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The deputy assessed that the person was not able to care for himself.
UNLAWFUL GATHERING—April 19, 10 p.m. on Park Drive. A resident on Park Drive had a party while the parents were on vacation in Hawaii. The host of the party admitted to seeing several minors drinking alcoholic beverages. A fight later occurred at the party. Two people were taken to the hospital and treated for injuries. The host of the party was cited and released at the scene.
DRIVER WITHOUT A VALID LICENSE—April 17, 4:20 p.m. between Prospect Road and Johnson Avenue. A deputy stopped a vehicle for having an obstructed view in the front windshield. Upon inspection, the deputy noticed that the driver's license was suspended. The deputy also spotted methamphetamine pipes within the driver's reach. The driver was cited, and the vehicle was towed.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY—April 17, 8:10 a.m. between Saratoga and Fruitvale avenues. An unknown person pried open and tore the screens of a window in a portable classroom. The damages are estimated to be approximately $444.
CRUELTY TO A CHILD—April 10, 6:50 p.m. on Sarah Park Circle. The mother of a 3-year-old child reported that her son had been abused by his father at his home in Los Angeles during a court order visitation. The father pushed the victim into a fence and hit the victim on his hip. The victim is currently residing with his mother in Saratoga.
MENTAL ILLNESS—April 10, 11:25 between Woodmont and Chateau avenues. A woman entered a house through the rear door and sat down in the family room. The suspect played with the resident's cat while waiting for the owner to come home. The owner claimed to not know the suspect. The officer deemed the suspect to be a danger to herself. The suspect was taken to be evaluated.
AUTO THEFT—April 9, 7:50 p.m. on Via Colina. A man said he had parked his vehicle on a driveway with the keys still in the ignition. The victim said that an unknown person stole the vehicle. The neighborhood was searched, but results were negative. The officer entered the report in the computer system. There were no witnesses.
BURGLARY—April 9, 4 p.m. on Herriman Avenue. A man reported that his wallet had been stolen from his locker. The victim showed the officer that if the lock was pulled hard enough, it would open the locker. The victim said that he had $40 in the wallet, along with an ATM card. Information on the suspect was not available.
PETTY THEFT—April 9, 1:30 p.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. An officer responded to a theft in progress. The manager of the store detained all three female suspects and placed them in a separate room. The officer watched the surveillance tape and saw one suspect stealing items while the others were on the lookout. All the suspects were taken to jail.
PETTY THEFT—April 8, 7 p.m. on Bucknall Avenue. A man came home from work and left his jacket in the car, which was unlocked. The victim later noticed that the jacket and a flashlight that was in the pocket were missing. The value of the jacket and the flashlight is estimated at $160.
POSSESSION OF COUNTERFEIT MONEY—April 7, 11:59 a.m. on Quito Road. An officer observed a blue vehicle travelling southbound on Quito Road without a front license plate. While the officer was talking to the driver, the officer noticed the driver displaying symptoms consistent with stimulant use. The driver was arrested for being under the influence and having several outstanding warrants. During processing at the main jail, the officer found four counterfeit $20 bills.
