Redwood's musical
ends this weekend
The Lost King of Ithiris has its final performances at Redwood Middle School May 13. The musical, written and directed by district music teacher Margie Alejandro, has evening performances all three days and a 2 p.m. matinee show on Saturday.
Lost King opened last weekend with two performances. The fantasy production about good and evil has 21 original musical numbers and medieval-style costumes sewn by parent volunteers. To purchase tickets, contact the school at 408.867.3042.
District examines
budget on May 6
The Saratoga Union School District Board of Trustees will hold a special workshop on May 6 to look at the district's budget for the 200304 fiscal year. Chief Business Official Ellen Tipton has prepared an estimated budget based on assumptions of funding that the state will take away. The workshop is from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the district office, 20460 Forrest Hills Drive. For more information, call 408.867.3424.
Pancake breakfast

The Saratoga Music Boosters is holding its annual pancake breakfast May 4. The Sunday breakfast, beginning at 8 a.m., has a complete pancake meal for $8 per person; tickets will be sold at the door. The event will take place in the Redwood Middle School quad and has performances from the bands, orchestras and choirs from Saratoga High and Redwood middle and elementary schools.

term dean's list
Saratoga students Han-Jo Ko and Jason Young are on the fall semester 2002 dean's list at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Ko is enrolled in the college of engineering, while Young is a member of the liberal arts and sciences college.
