Students get taste of military training

The Marines have landed at Westmont High School—the junior Marines, that is. About 60 students, many from Los Gatos and Saratoga, put on their official uniforms two times a week and get a feel for military life along with solid teaching on good citizenship and nationalism.  More

Blue Hills traffic Library reopening CyberRays honor Langstaff
A plan to alleviate traffic congestion and to improve pedestrian safety at a local elementary school is scheduled to be up for discussion at a June meeting of the Saratoga City Council.  More The grand reopening celebration for the new Saratoga Library is scheduled for June 21, but eager residents can enjoy the various amenities at the new 48,000-square-foot facility beforehand.  More The upcoming soccer match between the San Jose CyberRays and the Carolina Courage will be more than just a game—it will be a day of both commemoration and recognition for heroes in the community.  More

Ng trial Literary prize New wine shop
After hearing testimony from a Saratoga woman and law enforcement officials, a judge has ruled that a Sunnyvale man will go on trial for burglary and attempted rape charges.  More A Harker School eighth-grader recently won a statewide literary competition in which students wrote letters to authors whose works had changed their lives.  More Uncorked, a wine shop, kicked off its grand opening celebration April 4 and 5, attracting almost 200 people to its location on Big Basin Way.  More
