Meggs
JoAnn "Jody" Meggs died in Saratoga on April 25. She was 67.

Meggs was born in Lindsay, Calif., on March 7, 1936. After graduating from Samuel Merritt Hospital College of Nursing in Oakland, she moved to San Jose and worked as a registered nurse. In 1974, Meggs moved to Saratoga with her husband and three children and became active in the Saratoga Foothill Club, the PTA at Redwood Middle School and Saratoga High School, Boy Scouts, Law Wives and Little League. In 1978, Meggs began a 25-year volunteer effort with the Thrift Box in Willow Glen, helping manage and raise money for the Lucille Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.

Meggs was avidly involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, taking an interest in sports and school plays.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles Meggs of Saratoga, son and daughter-in-law Scott and Sally Meggs of San Jose, son and daughter-in-law Lindsay and Teresa Meggs of Chico, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Scott McLaughlin of San Jose, daughter-in-law Connie Meggs, sisters Vesta Jimenez, Mary Canale and Dorrance McLean, and 10 grandchildren.

Services have been held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucille Packard Foundation for Children's Health, 770 Welch Road, Suite 350, Palo Alto, 94304.
