The Saratoga Drama Group offers a great escape from the gloomy days of a damp spring season. Bringing its 40th season to a close, No No Nanette comes tap dancing in with favorites like "Tea for Two" and "I Want to be Happy."
Set in the 1920s, Nanette is a musical comedy that takes an audience back to a sweeter and sillier time. In the course of one weekend adventure to Atlantic City, complications and misunderstandings lead to the threat of scandal, blackmail, love and ended marriages. Comical entanglements of love and friendship begin when young Nanette sheds her ladylike shell for a wild and exciting life. Rest assured, all is resolved by the time the curtain comes down, as this Broadway musical was dubbed by critics "the happiest show in town" after its premiere in 1925.
"No No Nanette" runs Friday through Sunday until June 7 at the Saratoga Civic Theatre, 13777 Fruitvale Ave. Tickets are $16-$18. For additional ticket information, call 408.264.3110 or 408.882.5099 or visit www.saratogadramagroup.com.
