| The Imperial Ballroom at the Fairmont San Jose took on a Florentine flavor May 10 when partygoers gathered for a masked ball, a fundraiser for the County of Santa Clara/Province of Florence, Italy, Sister County Commission. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 2003 Medici Medal Citizens of the Year award winners, Helen and William Del Biaggio Jr. and Nicki and Joe Parisi.

| Montalvo was the setting April 26 for "Moon Over Montalvo," a fundraiser for the parent participation preschool and elementary school's capital fund drive to purchase a site for its new school. The evening followed a glitzy Hollywood theme, complete with period cars. |
