Sheriff's Report
Residential Burglary—May 17, 10:45 a.m. on Glen Brae Drive. Someone entered a resident's single-story home through the rear of the property by breaking a 6-foot section of a fence. The perpetrator performed a random search, stealing selected items, and left the residence through the sliding glass door in the master bedroom. Evidence was booked, as well as photos and latent prints.

Drunk in Public—May 16, 9:20 p.m. between Saratoga­Sunnyvale Road and Bauer Avenue. An officer responded to a call regarding a disturbance at a business where an intoxicated customer was bothering other patrons and the employees. When an employee refused to sell beer to the suspect, he threatened the management. The suspect left the business and headed down Saratoga Avenue, where the officer found him. The suspect had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and an unstable stance. The officer concluded that the suspect was unable to care for himself and took him to the county jail.

Found Property—May 14, 10:30 a.m. between Trinity and Malcolm avenues. A woman turned in a white-metal engagement ring with a solitary clear stone to the Sheriff's Office West Valley Substation. The individual said that her father found the ring on the street while walking. The ring is stored as found property at the station.

Vehicle Burglary—May 14, 10:15 a.m. on Prospect Road and Lyle Avenue. A student victim reported that an unknown person broke into her car parked at a school and stole an AM-FM radio/CD player valued at $600. The victim does not have insurance to cover the cost. This is the second auto burglary at the school within the last two weeks. There is no physical evidence.
