Sixth-graders have cultural bazaar
Redwood Middle School has its Cultural Bazaar for sixth-grade students on May 29. Students will experience the cultures of the countries that they have examined in social studies through the year, including India, China, Rome, Greece, Egypt and Israel. The bazaar will be held during their core periods, and the students will be exposed to the music, dance and foods of the various cultures.

Students walk for disease research
Saint Andrew's School participated in a May 4 walkathon to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, raising more than $4,800.
Families and students ranging from junior kindergartners to eighth-graders participated in the third annual Great Strides event, a 10K walk at Vasona Lake County Park in Los Gatos.
Not only did students walk, but two eighth-grade classes took an even greater role, taking on the organization and publicity of St. Andrew's participation.
Argonaut authors have June 2 expo
The annual Argonaut Elementary School Authors Expo returns on June 2. At the event, the public can view books written, illustrated and bound by K-5 students.

Saratogan receives academic honors
Whitney Wienkoop, a sophomore at Northeastern University, received honors for her academic performance during the winter quarter.
Wienkoop took a minimum of four courses, had no grade lower than a C and had a grade point average of 3.25 or more to earn a place on the school's dean's list.
A resident of Saratoga and graduate of the Menlo School in Atherton, Wienkoop is a volleyball player and is majoring in communication studies.
