Alumni to perform with SHS students

Saratoga High School orchestra and band alumni are invited to join the current class in the school's annual pops/award concert on May 30. The free public concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Saratoga High gym and will include compositions from Lord of the Rings, Robin Hood and Harry Potter.

Alumni of all ages and experience are welcome to participate, with instruments available for those in need. Following the concert, a snack and chat session will be held for alumni at a local restaurant.

Dessert and a play make for a nice day

The Saratoga Senior Center is hosting a dessert buffet theater party on May 29 from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. to benefit the Saratoga Drama Group. By handing over $20, patrons get free reign to sweets and treats and then a chance to see the production of No No Nanette. Tickets may be purchased at the Saratoga Senior Center, located at 19655 Allendale Ave., Saratoga. For more information, call 408.868.1257.


Sign up for Hakone city trip, art class

Act fast—the Hakone Foundation is heading out to San Francisco for a docent tour of the Asian Art Museum on July 8 and needs interested patrons to reserve their places. Lunch at the museum and transportation will be provided. Interested residents should contact Helen Metcalf at 408.867.9349.

Hakone is also sponsoring a one-day wind chime class on June 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the craft area of the gardens. Instructor Carla Brooke will guide students in creating wind chimes with mixed media, found objects, colored glass and ceramics. To register, send a check for $55 to Carla Brooke, P.O.
