Sheriff's Report
Possession of an Illegal Drug—May 26, 2:30 p.m. between Villanova and McCoy avenues. While monitoring a controlled intersection, an officer spotted a truck with two people inside. After watching the truck for approximately 15 minutes, the officer decided to approach the vehicle to check on the occupants' welfare. The officer reported smelling an odor similar to that of marijuana. The suspects admitted to smoking some. Both suspects were cited.

Vandalism—May 26, 12:25 a.m. on Ravenwood Drive. A man drove to his ex-girlfriend's house and saw her talking to another man. The suspect became jealous and started to verbally abuse the victim, saying he wanted to fight him outside. The victim refused to go outside and threatened to call the police if the suspect did not leave. The suspect got angrier and spit on the windshield of the victim's car. He also kicked the door on the driver's side and caused a dent. The suspect then left the scene and drove off in an unknown direction.

Petty Theft—May 23, 10:30 p.m. on Saratoga­Sunnyvale Road. An unknown person walked into a store and took a bottle of vodka from the liquor aisle. The suspect walked out of the store and got into a Ford Taurus station wagon, where a second person was waiting in the driver's side. The two drove away in an unknown direction. The value of the vodka is $31.99.

Sale of Alcohol to a Minor—May 23, 7:50 p.m. on Saratoga­Sunnyvale Road. Deputy sheriffs were conducting an alcohol buy decoy operation and reported that an employee at a liquor store sold beer to a minor who was the decoy. The employee was cited and released.

Vandalism—May 23, 6:15 p.m. on Chateau Drive. A man reported that an unknown person broke the chrome Dodge Ram emblem from his vehicle, which was parked on a residential driveway. The emblem is valued at $75. No witnesses or physical evidence was reported.

Residential Burglary—May 21, 10:30 a.m. on Aloha Avenue. A person who owns a construction company that is doing work at a residence reported some missing items, including power tools that had been locked in a storage container. Employees left the locked storage containers on the job site and returned the next morning to find the container missing. The stolen items are valued at approximately $2,250. No physical evidence was obtained.

Assault With a Weapon—May 20, 1 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue. Two men got into an argument about one's unemployment and depression. The argument escalated into a physical fight. The victim sustained moderate to major injuries to the face and head and was taken to Community Hospital of Los Gatos. The suspect had no injuries except a skinned elbow. Both parties reportedly had been drinking.
