The Saratoga Fire Department is investigating multiple fires that occurred at different locations on the Saratoga High School campus on June 1. According to fire officials, the blaze originated in four separate 64-gallon plastic garbage containers located near the back parking lot and the middle quad near the 500 and 700 buildings. When firefighters arrived on scene after receiving a call from a maintenance worker, two of the fires had already been extinguished. One of the fires broke a classroom window, leaving the interior of the room heavily smoked.

The Saratoga Union School District is offering a $250 reward to anyone with information about the fire. Those who do have information should call Jeremy Davis at 408.315.0177 or the school district operations coordinator, Brian Moran, at 408.867.3411, ext. 231.


Congresswoman to hold meetings

Representative Anna Eshoo from the 14th Congressional District will be hosting town hall meetings throughout June to discuss concerns about local, national and international issues. Eshoo is scheduled to be at Argonaut Elementary School's multipurpose room on June 28 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. She will also be at the Monte Sereno City Council chambers from 1 to 2:30 p.m. that same day. County supervisor appears on KSAR

Liz Kniss, the Santa Clara County Supervisor for District 5, will be a guest on the TV show Saratoga Today, talking with cohosts Norman Kline and Judith Lawrenson about noise mitigation on Highway 85, annexation policies and procedures and impacts of the budget crunch. The show airs on KSAR Channel 15 in Saratoga on Mondays at 6:30 p.m.


Sheriff has new phone number

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office Westside Substation has changed its phone number to 408.868.6600.
