Run for the Law in Los Gatos

The Law Foundation of Silicon Valley will give runners the opportunity to run for the law, instead of running from it, when the fourth annual race kicks off in Los Gatos on June 29.

The Run for the Law offers three different events: 5K Walk/Run, 10K Run and Corporate Challenge. The races will start at the West Valley Courthouse and run through the streets of Los Gatos and the trails of Vasona Park.

Panther camp

The Panther Field Hockey Camp will July 7­11 at Prospect High School. The five-day camp designed to teach incoming freshmen the fundamentals of high school field hockey in a safe, fun and competitive environment.

Basketball camp

The annual West Valley Basketball Camp returns to the college's Saratoga campus this summer with a session for boys entering the third through fifth grades.

The camp will focus on the fundamentals of shooting, passing, ball handling, footwork and much more. West Valley coach Danny Yoshikawa is camp director and Scott Peters in camp coordinator.

Soccer camps

Santa Clara University will host a series of summer soccer camps for players ages 6­18 this summer.

Camp dates include: July 21­25, residential camp for players ages 9­13; July 28­Aug. 1, residential camp for players ages 14­18; and Aug. 5­8, elite residential camp for players entering their junior and senior years of high school.

Women's golf

The 61st annual Santa Clara County Women's Golf Championships will return to the area on Aug. 4­5 when tournament play gets under way at the San Jose Country Club.
The tourney attracts county's top women golfers, boasting the lower handicaps. Women who hold a valid golf index and either live in Santa Clara County or belong to a golf club in the county are eligible.
