Divine tunes from diva Etta James
One of Montalvo's hottest shows of the summer is happening on June 29 at 4 p.m. when R&B legend Etta James performs on Montalvo's front lawn.
Jones has been a music powerhouse since making her mark at 16 years old, going on to record 25 top hits between 1955 and 1975.
Opening for James will be budding blues singer Susan Tedeschi.
So don't be a "push over," go "tell mama" and get tickets for $55 to $65 by calling 408.961.5858 or visiting www.villamontalvo.org or www.ticketmaster.com.
While online or on the phone, it might be a good idea to also nab tickets for sought-after artists such as Joan Osborne playing on July 10, Kool and the Gang on July 13, and India.Arie performing on July 18.
Aegis will feature clay and bamboo
Aegis Gallery in downtown Saratoga is showing Jacqueline Butts' enticingly moody stoneware and porcelain pieces, including combinations of clay with caning and bamboo.
All pieces are functional and designed in simple, elegant shapes decorated in a multitude of textured colors. The gallery is located at 14531 Big Basin Way.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Temporary homes for young animals
Kitten and puppy season is in full bloom, which means The Humane Society needs volunteers to temporarily foster abandoned young kitties and puppies in their homes. These young ones need homes and lots of attention for several weeks before reaching adoptable age.
The Humane Society provides all food, medical care, and whatever other materials are needed.
Foster homes are also needed for adult animals heading from injury or illness. All prospective foster parents must complete an application and attend an orientation.
Those interested should call 408.727.3383 or visit http://www.scvhumane.org.
