Chow wins award in writing contest

Tiffany Chow, a senior at Saratoga High School, has earned honors for her creative writing piece titled "Driving Past." Chow won second place in the category for high school juniors and seniors in the "Musings of the Mind's Eye" contest sponsored by Insight College Prep Center.

Chow's prize was a $50 gift certificate to Insight.


College awards degree to resident

Saratogan Terry Guldimann has graduated from Connecticut College with a bachelor's degree in computer science. Guldimann, a Saratoga High School graduate, earned his degree with distinction. Guldimann achieved a grade point average between 3.3 and 3.69 for several semesters at the school, earning a place on the dean's list.


Mitty student gets theater arts honor

Ashley Cauble, a Saratoga resident, has been awarded the 2003 Gene Pincus Memorial Theater Arts Scholarship from the West Valley Light Opera Association. Cauble, a recent graduate of Archbishop Mitty High School, will be majoring in technical theater at USC. Cauble was praised for her volunteerism in community theater groups, both onstage and behind the scenes.


Boesenberg is on spring dean's list

Alison Boesenberg has been named to the 2003 spring semester dean's list at the University of Portland. Boesenberg, a Saratoga resident, is a senior and a nursing major. She scored a grade point average of at least 3.5 to be eligible for the dean's list.


O'Gara graduates from the U of O

University of Oregon held its graduation ceremony on June 14, and among its graduates was Saratogan Alison Hester O'Gara. The 1998 Saratoga High School graduate earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in fibers from the Eugene, Ore., university.
