Hockey lessons
The Saratoga Recreation Department will host a four-day field hockey camp July 710 for beginning and intermediate players. Classes are open to children 915. Players will learn the rules and safety of the game, fundamental skills and offensive and defensive moves. Practices are headed by Karin Mirassou, who has experience coaching players in the Stanford and San Jose hockey camps.
The camp will be held at Congress Springs Park on Glen Brae Drive. Players should bring shin guards, water, mouth guards and cleats if available. All other equipment will be provided. Practices are held 9:3011:30 a.m. each day. Registration for Saratoga residents is $69 and $79 for nonresidents. For more information, contact the rec department at 408.868.1272.
Panther camp
The Panther Field Hockey Camp will July 711 at Prospect High School. The five-day camp designed to teach incoming freshmen the fundamentals of high school field hockey in a safe, fun and competitive environment.

All-comers meets
The annual all-comers track and field series return to the Los Gatos High School track this summer. Meets are scheduled for Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. for field events and 6 p.m. for track events, through Aug. 14. The cost is $4 for athletes and $2 for spectators. Women's golf
The 61st annual Santa Clara County Women's Golf Championships will return to the area on Aug. 45 when tournament play gets under way at the San Jose Country Club.
The tourney attracts county's top women golfers, boasting the lower handicaps. Women who hold a valid golf index and either live in Santa Clara County or belong to a golf club in the county are eligible.
