Budget cuts Fire consumes home Gateway improvements
After a grant from the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority was only partially awarded, the Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley is investigating where it can make cuts.  More Sheriff's deputies were successful in rescuing a family of four after flames engulfed their Saratoga Vista Avenue home on July 3. The cause of the fire is unknown.  More Plans to improve certain street portions along Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, including the gateway area between the railroad tracks and Prospect Road, will finally come to fruition this fall after being put on hold for several years.  More

Ng sentenced Parcel tax Seniors surfing
John Ng, who had been charged with three counts of burglary, possession of a burglary tool and the attempted rape of a Saratoga woman, has been sentenced to two years in state prison and three years on parole starting Aug. 19.  More Facing the possibility of massive funding cuts from the state, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District is planning to put a parcel tax measure on the March 2004 ballot that would bring in $1.8 million annually if passed.  More With the help of some computer courses at the Saratoga Senior Center, a whole new generation is getting on the Internet and making it their own.  More
