A Russian extravaganza

The Steinway Society's International Russian Music Competition at the end of May concluded with a Russian Extravaganza, complete with champagne, wine and vodka tastings. The competition and finale festivities took place at Le Petit Trianon.

Ballet's wrap-up party

Dancers from Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley have dispersed to summer jobs and relaxation around the world, but following their final performance of the season in May, they joined choreographers, staff, crew and board members for a wrap-up party in the Los Gatos home of Interim Executive Director Linda Sarles. The dancers will be back in September for the new season beginning with the company premier of Martha Graham's "Appalachian Spring," which opens Oct. 16.
