Since the days of Hypatia, women have taken great strides to achieve gender equality in schools and the workforce, but a mentality still persists at times that women cannot accomplish as much as their male counterparts. Historic orchard College for Kids Patricia Miranda
The orchard trees along Saratoga and Fruitvale avenues may be a sight to see for many passersby, but tree enthusiasts will soon have a chance to own one or as many as they wish under the commission's Adopt-a-Tree program.  More The West Valley College for Kids program, held in June and July, is offered for students entering sixth through ninth grades. The classes offered range from traditional math and science classes to photography, art, psychology, Spanish and even golf.  More After spending the last eight years getting thrown to the mat and losing numerous wrestling matches to male opponents much stronger then her, Patricia Miranda considers herself to be one of the luckiest people in the world.  More
