Sweat out stress, build up endurance

Saratogans looking to shape up and slim down will have the perfect opportunity as Community BootCamp comes to the city from Aug. 25 to Sept. 26. During the boot camp, held Monday through Friday from 6 to 7 a.m. at the Saratoga High School track, participants will work on cardiovascular endurance, strength training and stretching. Classes are held rain or shine and are open to all ages. The cost is $250 for new members and $225 for returning campers. Volunteers needed for Sunset tours

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has been selected as the beneficiary and community partner of the Sunset Magazine Idea House Program for 2003. As a recipient of funds raised by the Los Gatos Idea Houses, the foundation is responsible for staffing both homes with volunteers during tour hours. Exactly 332 volunteers are needed for the visitations August through October. Ringo is ready to rock at Montalvo

Ringo Starr has hooked up with quite a band to put on his summer tour, which takes a stop at Montalvo's garden theater on Sept. 4. Featuring Sheila E., Paul Carrack of Squeeze, John Waite of The Babys, and Colin Hay of Men At Work, Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band will perform classic favorites alongside new tunes from his latest album, Ringo Rama. Los Gatos festival invites Saratogans

All the stops will be pulled out for the Aug. 9 and 10 Fiesta de Artes, held on the Los Gatos Civic Center lawn as part of Music in the Park. Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Los Gatos, the two-day festival features music, art, crafts, food, wine and more than 150 vendors from the Bay Area. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. on both days, lasting until 6 p.m.
