Vandalism—Aug.3, 10:05 a.m. on Beaumont Avenue. An unknown person smashed out the left rear pop-out window of a parked red 1988 Honda Coupe with an unknown object. Glass shards were found inside and outside the vehicle. No items were taken or damaged in the interior. According to the report, the victim said he believed this was not a hate-related crime. Damages to the vehicle are estimated to be $300.
Petty Theft—Aug. 2, 2:30 a.m. on Cox Avenue. A female suspect was seen entering a food retail store and concealing four food items inside her waistband. The female left the store without paying and was stopped outside. She returned for investigation by store security and voluntarily admitted to the crime. She was placed under citizen's arrest.
Vandalism—Aug. 2, 9:50 a.m. on Chateau Drive. An unknown person threw three 3X1-inch white stones at a residence, striking the upper-left, lower-center and lower-right corners of a dual-pane window. All of the stones penetrated the first outer layer but left the inner layer intact. According to the report, the victim said he believes this is a hate crime.
The value of the window is approximately $450. Three Polaroid photos were taken. There are no witnesses.
Possession of a Drug—Aug. 1, 4:10 p.m. on McFarland and Saratoga avenues. An officer stopped a suspect driving a green Ford truck for making an illegal right turn on McFarland Avenue. The officer found the driver in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. The driver was cited and released. The passenger, however, was taken to the main jail for possessing methamphetamine.
Petty Theft—Aug. 1, 12:10 p.m. on Brookglen Drive and Prospect Road. An unknown person removed a nylon U.S. flag from a metal pole in front of a residence. The suspect also removed the hardware used to raise and lower the flag. The value of replacement is $100.
