Accessories make a fashionable statement
By Estelle Pagnoux
In the fickle industry of haute couture, trends shift with the change in the weather, each season dictating a new look, new color and inevitably a different "it" designer of the moment.

Artist Todd Kobashi, using the traditional art of glassblowing, presents his latest collection, a line of fashion accessories featuring colorful handbags and dresses shaped in delicate blown glass, at d.p. Fong Galleries.

The "N-Style Glassblowing Fashion Line," on display at the downtown gallery through the end of September, includes minidresses and ball gowns as well as the accoutrements that no woman worth her weight in credit cards would go without--handbags and shoes.

Tired of making vases, Kobashi began exploring the female form with the eye of a fashion designer. A recent graduate from the art program at San Jose State University, Kobashi's spatial artwork has been featured in dozens of exhibits throughout California.

Visit the "N-Style Glassblowing Fashion Line" exhibit at d.p. Fong Galleries, 371 S. First St. in downtown San Jose. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 16 p.m. Call 408.298.8877 for more information.
