Vandalism—Aug. 25, 8 a.m. An unknown suspect struck the lock off a gas pump on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. The lock was worth about $5, and there are no known suspects at this time.
Property for Destruction—Aug. 25, 7:30 p.m. A woman on Montalvo Road said she had weapons in her possession that she wanted to turn over for destruction. She requested that the sheriff's office take into possession two rifles and two handguns that belonged to her husband. She requested that the weapons be destroyed. The weapons were submitted to the Westside Substation.
Grand Theft—Aug. 26, 7:25 p.m. A caller said he last saw his tools in the back of his pickup truck on Aug. 22. He discovered they were missing on Aug. 26. The tools had been located in the bed of the pickup truck, and a camper shell covering the bed was believed to have been left unlocked. The total value of the tools was almost $800, and there are no known suspects.
Forgery—Aug. 26, 11:40 p.m. A woman reported that mail was stolen from her house on Woodside Court between May 26 and June 15. She said the suspect or suspects stole, activated and used her check card 19 times. Four checks were written totaling more than $5,000. The victim's signature was also forged on a stolen escrow check and deposited. The check was for more than $2,500. There are four possible suspects being investigated.
Possession of Stolen Property—Aug. 27, 4:15 a.m. A suspect was seen prowling on another person's property. When the suspect was confronted by a neighbor on Paseo Olivos, the suspect fled in his 2000 Ford F-350 pickup truck. The truck was teal colored. Officer Mike Damigo saw the pickup truck leaving Paseo Olivos and Quito Road at a high rate of speed. He pursued the truck eastbound on Bucknall Road. The pickup turned into Tamie Lane, and there the suspect abandoned the pickup truck and fled on foot. The pickup truck had stolen property inside as well as burglary tools. The unknown suspect is still at large.
Grand Theft—Aug. 27, 7 p.m. An unlocked vehicle was burglarized on Vineyard. There are no known suspects.
Found Property—Aug. 29, 11 a.m. A small, black, zippered change purse was found on the sidewalk in Saratoga and was taken to the Westside Substation.
