Meeting to discuss Saratoga's future
The Saratoga City Council is encouraging residents to attend a special meeting on Sept. 23 to discuss city properties and possible uses for each site.
Some of the topics that will be tossed on the table include the North Campus facility, the Civic Center and underdeveloped parks such as the newly discovered one near Springhill Court and the Wildcat Creek Trail.
The meeting will be held at the council chambers on Fruitvale Avenue at 7 p.m.
For more information, call City Clerk Cathleen Boyer at 408.868.1269 or visit the city's website at http://www.saratoga.ca.us.
Mingle with the LG Chamber
The Saratoga and Los Gatos chambers will be hosting a joint after-hours business mixer on Sept. 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Toll House Hotel in Los Gatos. A mixer donation of $5 is required.
Interested attendees must RSVP to the appropriate chamber. The hotel is located at 140 S. Santa Cruz Ave.
Saratoga spirit to host camp for kids
The Saratoga High School spirit squad will be hosting a Pee Wee Camp from Sept. 28 to 30 for girls ages 6 to 12 who are interested in cheerleading. Participants will attend a three-day camp where they'll learn the basics of cheerleading, said spirit squad parent volunteer Jackie Kraus. Then, on Oct. 3, the girls will perform a half-time routine at Los Gatos' Helm Field during the varsity game between Saratoga and Fremont high schools, which starts at 7:30 p.m.
The camp is $65, and includes a T-shirt and pompoms. Space is limited.
Kraus said this is the spirit squad's largest fundraiser, and the proceeds help pay for uniforms and costs the squad incurs throughout the year.
Registration will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 18 in the Saratoga High School gym.
For more information, call parent spirit advisor Gigi Peebles at 408.741.3249.
