Good life in Saratoga, if you've got the cash

It was party time in Saratoga [on Sept. 13], and residents who pay less than $5,000 or over $30,000 per year in property taxes got together to enjoy Celebrate Saratoga! They fed their faces, drank overpriced wine and beer, waddled around to their favorite nostalgia cover bands and laughed with their friends.

When it was over at 10:30 p.m., the Santa Clara County Sheriff's sent their squad cars rolling down Big Basin Way with six cops abreast to clear the streets of those unruly Saratogans who were just trying to get home or enter the local bar. There were no problems and everybody went home happy.

Increase your taxes? Unemployed? War in Iraq? Who cares! If you live in Saratoga, life is good, your city takes care of you and there is nothing your little feeble minds should ever worry about, except for one thing—make sure you have lots of cash!
