SCU baseball golf tournament
The annual Santa Clara University Bronco Baseball Golf Tournament will return to the Cinnabar Hills Golf Club on Oct. 24. A 12:30 p.m. shotgun start will follow a 10 a.m.noon registration.
The entry fee for the best ball scramble tournament will be $220 ($235 after Oct. 8) and will include green fees, a golf cart, a photo with foursome, range balls, tee prizes, lunch and dinner. The cost for the dinner only is $65.
There are also tee sponsor packages available that include a tee sponsor sign and golf program recognition for $150, $1,000 (also includes tourney entry fee for two, Bronco season passes for two, Bronco Baseball Summer Camp passes for two, throw out the first pitch at a Bronco home game), and $2,000 (also includes all of the same items for four plus a bottle of Silver Oak wine).

Senior Games
The Senior Games, hosted by the City of San José Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Office on Aging, are coming up soon and feature competition in basketball and track and field.
Athletes ages 50 and over will compete in the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Oct. 25, 9 a.m., at Mission College in Santa Clara. The event will also feature a hot shot and free throw competition. The cost is $20 per player ($10 for the hot shot and free throw competition only).
Athletes ages 40 and over are eligible for the track and field meet to be held Nov. 2, 9 a.m., at Los Gatos High School. The $20 entry fee includes all events.
The registration deadline is Oct. 17 for basketball and Oct. 24 for track and field. For more information, call 408.297.0247.

Bonanno retires
A coaching career than spans nearly 40 years will come to an end this year as San Jose City College athletic director Bert Bonanno announces his retirement. The longtime cross country and track and field coach for the Jaguars will be honored at a retirement dinner on Oct. 10 at Lou's Village in San Jose.

Punt, Pass, Kick
The annual Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick competition for youngsters ages 815 (as of Dec. 31, 2003) will be held Oct. 12, beginning at 2 p.m. at San Jose PAL Stadium.
Participants will each have one punt, one pass and one kick, and scores will be determined by distance and accuracy. The winner in each age group advances to the regional championships on Oct. 18 at Jefferson High School in Daly City. The championship round will be held Nov. 2 during halftime of the San Francisco 49ersSt. Louis Rams game.
